This first issue puts forward a proposal that is connected to very recent events. As this initiative was being prepared for publication, a heated and controversial debate was renewed on how a jurist is to be educated, as well as on the basic requirements of the education that studies of law are to provide.
The Italian Society for Legal History is holding its annual conference in November of 2015. Entitled Storia del diritto e identità disciplinari. Prospettive (Legal history and academic disciplines. Perspectives), the meeting will seek to reflect on the teaching of legal history and on the relationship between research and teaching.
Thus, we would like to invite all Italian and foreign colleagues, legal historians and legal positivists to send in their contributions on the following topic by March 2016: “The role of legal history in the education of jurists”.
